I got an e-mail from a young Australian man in March, wanting to visit TTO. Previously one of his mom’s friends had told me that he, Tim would contact me. So it wasn’t a surprise. Anyway his mom, Lorrie ( you can see her photos on Visitors under Photo section on this website.) had visited TTO about nine years ago. She was in Vietnam on a tour at that time and when I met her and told her about TTO, she wanted to visit. She had such a good time there and wanted to become a supporter. She kept her promise and for about one year and half she and her friends sent a donation every month. Unfortunately, cancer struck and after some time she passed away. Tim told me that his mom had told him and his dad about the visit very enthusiastically and the photos of her and the orphans are still on the refrigerator at his dad’s home to this day. Tim has visited TTO twice already in a month and has become a good friend to many orphans. He has also become a supporter of TTO.

In the middle of April, Hillbrook Anglican high school from Australia paid a visit to TTO for the second time. About twenty students and teachers traveled around Vietnam and Cambodia and while they were in Ho Chi Minh city, they visited TTO and played with the orphans. Since their first visit in 2010, they have been sending donations to TTO regularly. Kathy, the art teacher told me that they bought some souvenirs from Vietnam and after their return, they will have a “Vietnamese day” fair at their school, where they will sell them to parents and friends and send the profit to TTO. It is a fantastic idea to involve students in a program like this. The principle and Kathy who had visited TTO last time saw the improvement of TTO facilities and were very happy to know that their help made it possible for the construction of the new building.
